The StrongArm. What a great name for a Physical Therapy product. Marketing aside I've got to say, this is an impressive device on paper. Now I should point out here that we are in no way paid sponsors of this product or selling it. Frankly it could be a total waste and we wouldn't know the difference. The only review we could dig up aside from the typical marketing 'reviews' on the StrongArm website was a one line review on Allegro Medical:
This product is great because it completely supports my forearm but it does not hurt my wrist when using it long distances or over time. I use this everywhere I go.
While I've never used a StrongArm it sounds ingenious. This Chicago company took the traditional cane and forearm crutch, the two most popular walking assistance devices, and combined them together to make one super mega crutch-cane. It's the 'hybrid car' of physical therapy products. What we have here is essentially a metal cane with an arm support spiraling out of the hand piece to rest against the back of your forearm. Simple yet effective.
So what do you think? Is this the next sliced bread or just another cane? Let us know in the comments below.
Brad, thanks for your kind support of the StrongArm cane. There are more independent positive reviews available on the internet, but the recent Mayo Clinic rehab department evaluation report is the one we are really proud of. Mayo rated our device way above traditional canes and crutches for its functionality and design. We believe that StrongArm cane is the next step in mobility technology that this industry has been waiting for decades and it is only a matter of time before StrongArm becomes a staple as an ambulatory aid. StrongArm forearm cane is designed to provide the needed support while keeping the design modest enough in order not to advertise someone's handicaped condition as other crutches do.
